Bouvard on Human Specificity and Victimary Culture
Cofnas has an opportunity to show grace under pressure along with an unyielding insistence on the truth before a wide and mostly hostile audience. His entire "posture" suggests he's been preparing for something like this.
@slooperbia50068 Of the victimary.
@slooperbia50068 Why should "human" have become coterminus with "victimary"?
@slooperbia50068 I don't know about that. I would say I do allow for the animal and (especially) technological to "impinge" upon the human so that human specificity is relational.
@slooperbia50068 The human is always on a scene and therefore never "inside" particular humans; that scene is constructed out of materials, including the relations between humans, and is always changing, and so is the human. We have the minimal "the human is the species that poses a greater
@slooperbia50068 danger to itself than is posed to it by anything external" and "the human defers violence through language" but these dangers and deferrals are always taking on new shapes that refer us to the natural and technological spheres.
