Bouvard on GOP Purge and Neoconservative Factionalism

By Dennis Bouvard

Plain text

The only goal of the Vancers is purging the GOP of "neocons," "Israel Firsters," etc. They don't care about Iran, "affordability," "postliberalism," or winning elections--losing might equally help with the purge. It's a putsch within the party. This makes sense of all they do.

@slooperbia50068 It's an angry time.

@slooperbia50068 Don't know if you've seen this:

Doesn't look to me like the GABlog survived the transition.

@slooperbia50068 Do you see it somewhere on the page?

@slooperbia50068 Where do you see it?

@slooperbia50068 Yes

@slooperbia50068 Yes that’s the opening page. I don’t see the GABlog.

@slooperbia50068 It looks that way to me.

@slooperbia50068 We have a Center Study site, so it's all preserved and available. The most parsimonious explanation is that Gans doesn't want the GABlog to be included within GA.

@slooperbia50068 Through Zack Baker's excellence.

@slooperbia50068 You raise the question of the relation between parsimony and presupposition. Occam's razor cuts at one point but must presuppose all the other points, or hold them constant.

@slooperbia50068 I think the originary hypothesis completes the linguistic turn by identifying a center at the origin of language--rather than slippage and decentering. The center is the source of power, but as indebtedness and exchange. What is "absolute" is that the center is occupied, even if

@slooperbia50068 negatively, through furious attempts to accuse others of usurping it.

@slooperbia50068 I've told you that I take the limitations on this site as a spur to discipline my writing and be more laconic.

@slooperbia50068 By the way, I've reposted this but the way this site seems to work I don't know for sure if you've seen it. It's paywalled, but I'll email you the essay.

@slooperbia50068 I don't know but I don't say that's the only goal, for anyone.
