A Priesthood of Programmers
I'm not sure, but wouldn't the judiciary be "priestly"? If it's just workers, warriors and priests, where else could we put the judges?
My question here is whether intellectuals, in some sense, have to become "programmers"--can we broaden that category, and redefine theory so as to fit it?

Yes, and the king is also a judge.
It is interesting to think abut trolling as a kind of primitive programming--the point of trolling is to generate predictable responses, rather than "say" something or engage in "dialogue"--so, it's like issuing commands to be applied in different ways for recipients situated differently. The way to transcend it is by developing the means to understand it better.
