Just write it and submit it. I'm guessing you're familiar with academic conventions, but Gans is pretty informal if it's an interesting essay. I'd be glad to read drafts as you're working. You seem to have a lot of ideas--what you mention here is different than your discussion above. I haven't really seen your writing yet, but maybe you should narrow things down. *Either* algorithms and Western identity *or* the Big Man and death rituals (*or* originary structure and abstraction) would give you plenty to work with.
