The Vanceguard feels like it routed some enemies today and is whooping it up and high-fiving each other. It all seems to. be about those 10 Indian kids at the football game. Not a word about Vance's mentor, Tucker Carlson, though. Well, surely no one will raise the issue.
@taimur_____ First, Thiel influence wouldn't be a problem, for me at least, and would be steady, at any rate. Second, I think he has maintained much closer intellectual and political ties with Carlson, even after Carlson's "turn"--closer than he is acknowledging.
@taimur_____ Neither do I, but Vance seems to. I admit to being puzzled here, which is a reason I keep returning to it. Vance's discussion of antisemitism in that meeting with Jewish Republicans was shown to be very Tuckeresque, which indicates recent conversations on this very issue.
@taimur_____ Yes, I agree with this assessment and think it's broader than the Iran war. I think planning for the takeover of the GOP has been going on for awhile, using Trump's victory as a cover, and this is accelerating things.
@taimur_____ Vance linked to Carlson and some others would be part of a takeover, from the old GOP but also from Trump. That's what makes the Carlson connection perplexing--it interferes with what should be happening, given that (leaving the Jews out of it) Carlson has come out so virulently
@taimur_____ against Trump. It seems like a simple "this is not the Tucker I knew" would take care of it--and, yet, nothing. So, I assume there's real political coordination and not just friendship here.
